Curtis Volkle

Curtis Volkle and is an international student who is majoring in philosophy and intersecting with indigenous studies, gender and women’s studies and animal activism. Curtis is interested in the connection between philosophy (both western and indigenous), sustainability, and social justice, wanting to explore the types of systems which different kinds of philosophy tend to sustain. He is currently four years into UBCO’s undergraduate philosophy program and is inspired by writers and activists like Arundhati Roy, Gary Yourofsky, Melina Laboucan Massimo, Saryta Rodriguez, Kim Anderson, Aaron Swartz and anyone who speaks truth to power.

Curtis will be participating in the events on March 17th, 2015, as a panel member, and on March 19th, 2015, during the Celebratory Water Ceremony.
